As we waited on the pier |
Out for a "dander" |
Sunday 11 August , was another fine Summer’s day, apart from a brief shower in the morning as a dark cloud passed overhead on its way to Holland.
It was also the occasion of a visit from Jean and Bill, who had travelled up from Dorset for a London weekend in a hotel on The Embankment.
Sisters |
We met them as they disembarked from a “Clipper” on Tower Pier, and spent a lovely day “dandering” around, seeing the sights of the dock, checking out “The Town of Ramsgate” pub in Wapping and generally catching up on matters, family and global.
Dinner at "Mala" on the dock |
The day passed very quickly, and, after a too-huge dinner in the dock’s Indian restaurant, our visitors departed to walk back while we repaired to the cockpit for a quiet reflection of the day in the balmy midnight air.
